Still Don't Have A Web Site? 4 Options For New Web Owners

If you don't yet have a web site, or you're thinking of starting a new one, there are a number of options open to you:

1. If you have just one product to sell, you can go the low-cost route of putting up a two-page site, opting for inexpensive hosting, and placing ads on Google. Let's call this the mini-site option. You can see an example of this type of site at CareerPro.com.

We use Hosting Revolution for our low-cost hosting needs. At only $10 a year they're a great deal.

2. If you want to create an extensive web site on your area of expertise, building it up over time with multiple products to sell or recommend on a commission basis, you might want to take a look at Site Build It (SBI). We use this for a number of our clients, and it's still the best deal on the Internet in terms of help and built-in services. SBI has helped create a large number of financially independent web site owners and offers a full set of free instructional videos to help you get the best results from your site.

To read more about this option, visit Site Build It Review.

3. If you plan to build a number of sites, XsitePro is a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) software program that offers many of the built-in SEO functions of Site Build It but doesn't include hosting as SBI does. You can build as many sites as you like and upload them automatically to your host. To see an example of an XsitePro Site, visit Maldives Island Resorts.

And if you do plan to build a number of web sites, Hostgator offers one of the best deals for hosting multiple sites at only $10 per month (for as many sites as you want up to your storage limit).

4. You can build multiple Google AdSense sites using a free software package called HyperVRE. It creates multiple content web sites on the fly, embedding your contextual ads and AdSense ads within the content. The software is easy to use and includes an endless amount of customizable features. You can find out more about it at HyperVRE.

Creating a successful site is all about focus and using the right tools. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us using the form on our Contact Us page.

Web Copywriting - Ughh!!

Does the idea of writing a web page bring back all that gut-wrenching anxiety you felt when faced with an English assignment at school?

Take a deep breath and relax. Writing for the Internet is nothing like writing for school!

Forget about all those obscure rules of grammar you never quite got. What people are looking for online is information – in a form that’s easy to read and understand, written in a friendly and helpful tone. You can start a sentence with ‘and’. You can write sentences that consist of one or two words. As long as it all makes sense to the reader and you get your point across.

Which is not to say you can forget about spelling and punctuation. Your purpose is to make the experience a pleasant one for your reader, so you don’t want them distracted by bad spelling, or having to read a sentence a couple of times to make sense of it. Bad punctuation - like throwing in too many commas or not using enough periods – can trip up your reader and cause them to click away in frustration.

As for the tone of your writing, imagine you’re writing to a friend or pen pal. Write informally and genuinely. And please stay away from too much hype. We’ve all had more than our fair share of pushy sales people and we cringe when we’re confronted by a hard sell spiel.

Some suggestions for easy web page writing:

1. Write your web pages as clearly and concisely as possible. Use the spellchecker in your word processing program. Re-read your pages 3-7 days later and you’ll see all sorts of places where you could have expressed yourself better. Make your corrections and let it go.

Don’t do this more than twice. You could rewrite your pages forever and you’d probably always find room for improvement. This is a waste of time, unless you’re adding some new sales technique you’ve just learned.

2. Ask a friend who’s a good writer to do a quick edit for you. Preferably they should be familiar with writing for the Internet. Beware of literary types who want to polish your copy according to publishing standards. This may not be helpful and could lead you off track.

3. For a pain-free way of writing articles and web pages, take a look at Melanie Mendelson's excellent 30 Minute Article Writing System. This ebook and audio will help you write a web page or article in 30 minutes. It’s a form of speed writing and it works!

4. If you realize writing isn’t your forte or you simply don’t want to do it, hire a freelancer at www.elance.com or www.rentacoder.com to write your web copy for you.

It may be a case of trial and error until you find the person who can write ‘in your voice’, but when you do, don’t let them go! This person may be the key to your success, so show your appreciation readily. Pay them a bonus when they do a great job or get a difficult assignment in on time. Most of the top Internet marketers have several key people who write their copy. It’s a major factor in their success and they reward these freelancers accordingly.

Next time we'll talk about writing an ebook the easy way.

How To Choose Your Best Path To Success

I met an amazing man this week who puts a whole new spin on how to become successful in whatever field you choose. His name is Roger Hamilton and he’s studied people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Richard Branson and Oprah Winfrey to discover how they became as successful as they are.

And guess what? They all did it differently.

Roger believes that in order to really become successful in life, you need to do something that fits with your personality type, as these high achievers did. If you do, your life will flow, and all the events and circumstances necessary for your success will fall into place more easily than if you struggle against your true nature by choosing the wrong avenue.

His approach is the opposite of the one-size-fits-all methodology of most wealth creation programs. And yes, he walks the talk. At 38 years old he runs seven international companies, as well as the XL Foundation, an organization of 70,000 entrepreneurs whose goal is to affect positive economic change on a global scale.

According to Roger, the starting point for anyone desiring success is to discover your personality type (there are eight) and then choose – or adjust – your means of achieving your goals to fit with your new knowledge.

You can read about the personality types and complete an online personality test at Wealth Profiles.

The results might surprise you!

Till next time.

Building a business or working for a lunatic?

I've been singing the praises of Rich Schefren for some time now - ever since 2006 when he gave away free access to a mind-blowing video on how NOT to run a business.

Whether you're running a business online or offline, you need to listen to this man. If you haven't come across his name before, you can visit the page I put up with links to his first video and the free accompanying PFD files. And don't balk at the fact that you need to give him your name and email address to get access to the videos. If you want to succeed and enjoy the process, you'll want to keep up with what Rich is teaching.

You can reach the page by clicking on Taking Control Of Your Business.

Next week I'll add the links to his latest videos.

Until then,
